Beautiful Coney Island Photography

I believe that “seaside” and “photogenic” go hand-in-hand, and the following photographs of Coney Island by Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao reaffirm my belief. “Greetings from Coney Island,” the Lightbox exhibition by MTA Arts for Transit and Urban Design includes “eight stunning panoramic time-lapsed views of the famed seaside amusement park.” Check out two of the photos below:

The gallery’s caption states: ” With his long exposures that capture and compress time within each frame, Liao brings the viewer into the picture through his technique of wide angle and expansive viewpoint.” Astroland’s historic Cyclone wooden roller coaster is visible in the above photograph.

This beautiful panorama shows the size of the urban Coney Island area. The shot includes Deno’s Wonder Wheel and the Cyclone.

These photos display the area’s recovery from last year’s Hurricane Sandy. Without prior knowledge of the storm, I would never guess that the area received substantial damage.
