The media get ready for the show.
Dolly Parton was at Dollywood on Friday, March 22nd to fill in season pass holders and members of the media what is going to be new at the park this year. Several key points and highlights Dolly talked about include:
- RiverRush, Tennessee’s first water coaster, will open at Dollywood’s Splash Country on May 11th.
- Wild Eagle won the Golden Ticket for Best New Ride in 2012. The B&M wingcoaster was the most popular ride in the park and gave 1.3 million rides in its inaugural season!
- Extended park hours from June 22 through August 4 will enable you to ride the coasters in the dark.
- Dolly’s Nights of Many Colors is a new nightly firework extravaganza.
- New show “My People – Dolly’s Letter Home” (May 10, 2013 – Jan 4, 2014) will feature Dolly’s brother Randy and sister Cassie along with several other family members.

As we toured the park we noticed Adventure Mountain is currently still standing but is carefully being dismantled in preparation for an exciting new attraction in 2014!
