One of the primary reasons for making our trip to Disney World in December (besides checking out New Fantasyland) was to see some of the holiday celebrations and events. It’s an especially enchanting time of the year! Cinderella’s Castle as well as the rest of the Magic Kingdom was all decked out for the holidays:
The main holiday event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Located on the Streets of America section, this spectacle is a massive seasonal display featuring millions of holiday lights perfectly synchronized to music. I always thought the Columbus Zoo’s dancing light show was awesome but I was blown away by the sheer density of Disney’s Christmas lights.
The Candlelight Processional is a special holiday event held nightly at the America Gardens Theatre in Epcot theme park as part of Holidays Around The World. The event retells the story of Christmas with a celebrity narrator, orchestra and choir. The guest celebrity narrator for our show was Whoopi Goldberg. She did a very good job and I especially liked her message to the audience after the show – “Pay it forward” this holiday season by helping someone else out.
Even Animal Kingdom had their own uniquely decorated, giant Christmas Tree!
We shot a couple of scenes from the Candlelight Processional and the Osborne Christmas Lights and compiled them in this short video. Stay tuned for more updates from Disney World!
