Ed Hart Still Fighting for Kentucky Kingdom

Ed Hart has not abandoned Kentucky Kingdom. His team, known formally as the Kentucky Kingdom Redevelopment Company, submitted a bid proposal detailing plans to reopen the shuttered former Six Flags property. The team plans to invest $120 into the amusement park and reopen it in 2014.

According to Business First, “Hart’s investment, through Kentucky Kingdom Redevelopment Co., would include $50 million in startup funding and $70 million over the term of a lease with the state, according to a news release.”

The park is situated on land owned by the state and is managed by the Kentucky State Fair Board.

The above site plans show where new water slide complexes and a roller coaster would be located.

The park last operated in 2009. Hart previously tried to reopen the park, as well as the Koch (Holiday World) family in a separate attempt. Hopefully the third time is the charm. The plans are ambitious, but Hart is persistent and dedicated. We wish him and his team the best as they continue their fight to reopen Kentucky Kingdom.

The proposal can be viewed in full here.
