This is the start of a new feature on Coaster101 called Vintage Park Photos! While digging through a bunch of my parents old photo albums I came across a number of old pictures from a bunch of different theme parks. In the coming weeks I’ll be sharing pictures Disney World, Disneyland, Wyandot Lake, Cedar Point, and Universal Studios Hollywood. Today, I’ve got some classic shots from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida taken in April 1979!
One of the better pictures is of the original Frontierland Train Station which was torn down in order to make room for Splash Mountain. There’s also a picture of the old Fantasyland Skyway station which is currently being removed to make way for a new restroom and expanded pathway. I also enjoy looking at the park guest’s clothing and hair styles- they’re pretty wild!
