Tony Hawk, Thomas and more are out!

Six Flags is making big changes in the ride name department. The LATimes reports that significant changes will take place at most of the chain’s 11 American amusement parks that are home to rides related to Thomas the Tank Engine, Tony Hawk, Wiggles, and Evel Knievel.

Tony Hawk coasters, which are located at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, over Texas, St. Louis, and Discovery Kingdom, will be shortened to “Big Spin.” Wiggles World areas at various Six Flags parks across the nation will be rethemed, probably similarly to the renaming that has already taken place at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Evel Knievel at Six Flags St. Louis will be renamed “American Thunder.” Finally, Thomas the Tank Engine areas will be renamed “Whistle Stop Depots.”

These cost-cutting changes will hopefully allow Six Flags to continue its emergence from bankruptcy.
