We’ve heard Chang might not be heading to Six Flags Great America afterall.
Some are now saying that Chang will replace Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure.
We are currently looking into these claims and will bring you more information as we receive it.
Update
Nick brought this interesting Daily Herald article to our attention:
“Six Flags officials announced they will not appear at the Gurnee village board meeting Monday as originally scheduled. Initially, officials were on the agenda and expected to appear before the village board to request a variance for a roller coaster that would exceed the 125-foot height allowed under law. However, Jennifer Dugan-Savage, director of communication for the theme park, said Friday officials “were no longer on the agenda to appear” at the board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gurnee Village Hall, 325 N. O’Plaine Road. She said officials are “still considering expansion, but we are just not meeting with the board on Monday.” She did not have a date for when the theme park may appear before the board in the future.”
Check this out from the Daily Herald:

Why can’t we get any new rollercoasters at Great America? That bugs me to death. I was really looking forward to Chang. But we won’t get it.
The article said that they will not appear at the meeting coming up; however as its not even August yet doesn’t mean that they will not appear at a future meeting. I would hope that Six Flags would reconsider pulling Chang off the table. I know there are other parks in need of coasters; however I feel that The Dark Knight was a flop and next to Six Flags Magic Mountain I would think our park is the next big thing in regards to tourist and coasters and we need one as a lot of ours are getting older. It would have been nice to bring Chang and do it as a Floor less coaster and redo Iron Wolf. I think a water park expansion would be nice, but lets face it the park it self is by far more crowded then the water park and its time the park itself gets some attention.
I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one these days..
