Odin’s Temple of the Tiger

I think one of the most amazing dynamics a themepark can have is animal interaction. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, located in Vallejo, California, continues the tradition of incredible animal odin_opening1attractions with the addition of Odin’s Temple of the Tiger. From Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s website:Odin, the Temple of the Tiger namesake, dives into the new 26,000 gallon pool

“The attraction features two recently acquired tiger cubs, Nalin, a white Bengal male and Akasha, a female Bengal tiger, that are all about the playtime. They’re a big part of the new and exciting show. You can learn all about the tigers on the new Meet the Cats page.

Odin’s Temple of the Tiger takes the popular tiger show and brings it to new heights. In this new expanded venue, there’s a seat for everyone to view the central stage with underwater viewing pool and see Odin and the rest of the swimming cats.

Guests have several opportunities throughout the day to visit Odin’s Temple of the Tiger and experience the strength and beauty of these animals up close. When the show debuts this season, there will be specific show times each day to see Odin in action.”

Here are some interesting facts about Odin’s Temple of the Tiger:Nalin “cuts” the ribbon, signaling that the Temple is now open!

  • Odin’s Temple of the Tiger is an exciting new show experience and exhibit attraction at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Northern California’s only combination wildlife, oceanarium and theme park.
  • The attraction gets its name from Odin, the popular white Bengal tiger, who’s mother was the first white tiger ever born at the park. Odin is widely-known as the underwater diving tiger seen internationally through media and web coverage.
  • With a main arena that seats 2,500 people in a three-quarter seating arrangement that surrounds a large stage, tigers can cavort in an area that features a large pool with underwater window viewing.
  • Guests can observe tigers relaxing in an outdoor glass-fronted exhibit area located adjacent to the outdoor covered theater (accessible entrance available). A glass-paneled viewing area looks directly into the yard that features a running waterfall and climate-controlled rocks. The park’s 11 tigers reside behind-the-scenes and are rotated to the various outdoor yards throughout the day.
  • The all-new show retains the integrity and awe-inspiring tiger feats seen in previous incarnations of the park’s popular tiger presentation, which has been a fixture of the park for more than 12 years. The new version takes all of the great moments and supersizes them, complete with a cast of entertainers to engage audiences, complementing the trainers and the stars themselves, the tigers.
Members of the press watch as Nalin and Akasha splash around in the water.
